What is 2Vu™ ?A method and apparatus allowing for simultaneous direct viewing and electronic capture of images in a transmission electron microscope, for which AMT has a pending patent. Typically "direct viewing" is done from the conventional viewing screen in the TEM and electronic capture is done by a digital CCD camera. Why use 2Vu™ ?Each viewing method has individual strengths. The availability of both methods gives users the chance to select the best of both. The position of 2Vu™ is another major advantage, because the region between the viewing screen and the plate film holder is essentially where the TEM was originally optimized by its design engineers. The conventional viewing screen has a large field-of-view and low distortion and is an optimal location for many clinical and life science applications as well as crystallographic studies. When is 2Vu™ available ? The 2Vu™ configuration is available for the XR41, XR611 and XR111 cameras for most TEMs. Watch how 2Vu™ works! Watch the introductional video above which shows how 2Vu™ works.
