Continuous innovation by AMT has produced the patented 2Vu™ imaging system for transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The 2Vu™ shares the field-of-view and the magnification properties of the Mid-Mount TEM camera position. The 2Vu™ TEM camera systems are currently available for the XR41-2Vu™, XR111-2Vu, and XR16-2Vu™
Typically "direct viewing" is either done from the conventional viewing screen in the TEM or via the digital CCD TEM camera. The 2Vu™ imaging system allows for the convenience of the conventional TEM viewing screen to act simultaneously as the phosphor for camera imaging. This action allows the direct viewing of specimens on the fluorescent viewing screen of the TEM as well as on the computer monitor.
Each viewing method has individual strengths. The availability of both methods gives users the opportunity to select the best of both. The position of 2Vu™ has another major advantage: it is this placement between the TEM viewing screen and the plate film holder that was design optimized for viewing and photographic recording of the transmission electron microscope (TEM) images. In addition, the conventional TEM viewing screen has a large field-of-view, demonstrates low optical distortion and is an optimal location for many clinical and life science applications.
2Vu™ configuration is available for the XR41, XR611 and XR111 cameras for most TEMs.
